GOAT

Los Angeles, California

GOAT gives sneaker and fashion lovers access to authenticated luxury shoes and apparel on a meticulously curated online resale platform.

SALT designed a furniture collection for GOAT’s new offices, in collaboration with RADAR.

Bringing the Street Indoors

To structure the open, airy office space, SALT and RADAR built planters from standard CMU blocks assembled into varying shapes and sizes. This everyday urban material represents GOAT’s brand as a company rooted in streetwear and sneaker culture.

Lower planters are designed to serve as benches where team members can take a break or a phone call. Other planter configurations are stacked higher, bringing the eye up towards the former warehouse’s exposed beams and mezzanine.

From Modular to Sculptural

Contrasting with the planters’ industrial look, stained wooden benches give the space a touch of organic texture and form. Coastal live oak was collected locally and treated by Angel City Lumber, then stained black in a tone that enriches the expression of the wood’s natural grain. In the office’s largest open hallway, three benches in curved, natural log shapes form a long central spine. Smaller benches throughout the space are made from square-cut timber. Each piece is unique and serves a specific use, yet is consistent with a family of materials and styles. The furniture collection doubles as a series of art pieces tailored to the space.
